John Klaphake - Photographer

Photography is something that has interested me for a long time, but only in the last few years could I properly describe it as a consuming interest. It has amazed me how the camera has the ability to see more than the human eye, how it has the ability to bend light and to bring out colours that the human eye fails to detect. I think photography gives us the ability to see what we can't see and that is what I love about this art.

One thing I particularly enjoy is the challenge of capturing the fleeting moments of dawn and dusk. At both of these times the skies change quickly, the pinks, the reds, oranges and yellows change in a moment and if they are not captured, they are forever gone. Thus, photography is very much serendipity.
